Muse

lost in the shadow of a city street
left behind, nearly dismissed
letting in light moments at a time…
When your muse goes missing

a feeling of small sadness undefined
absence you barely detect
all the world loses bit of shine…
When your muse goes missing

when the day-to-day takes control
puts a strangle hold on all you hold dear
when a feeling of loss overwhelms
what should be simple, clear, and near…

cries in the night and you wonder, somehow
could it be yours, are you there?
can’t sleep for the worry that abounds…
When your muse goes missing
